Baseball Championship Set

The TVAA Baseball Championship is set as the Juniata Indians will face the Susquenita Blackhawks on Thursday, May 18th at 7:00 PM. The game will be hosted by Newport. The Juniata Indians traveled to Halifax on Wednesday to take on the Wildcats. The Indians used 10 hits and 4 Wildcat errors to score 8 runs in their 8-4 victory. Donovan Ranck went 3 for 4 at the place with two RBIs to help lead the way for Juniata. Korey Martin pitched a complete game striking out 7 batters, allowing 5 hits, and 1 walk in the victory. Luke Blassick was on the mound for Halifax giving up 10 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4 in the loss. Susquenita reaches the title game with a 5-0 shutout of Upper Dauphin.

TVAA Softball and Baseball Playoff Update

SOFTBALL RESULTS The Lady Trojan Softball team dominated Susquenita last evening in the softball semi-finals 13-4. UDA used a nine run second inning which featured back to back home runs by Lexi Weaver and Mickayla Grow to blow things open early and never looked back. Greenwood shut out Millersburg in the other semi-final game 3-0. This game was scoreless most of the way but the Wildcats were able to break through in the bottom of the fifth with the bases loaded when Nikki Willi drew a walk to give the Wildcats the lead. TVAA Baseball Playoff Preview

On Tuesday May 16th the TVAA Baseball Playoffs will begin with the first game being between Upper Dauphin and Millersburg due to the three way tie in the Eastern Division. The Indians of Millersburg have a strong defensive side which has lead them this far. Christian Wingard is the strong center for the team leading the league in strikeouts and is one of the top leaders of wins this season. Offensively, Logan Troutman plays a key role in earning runs being on the top charts for RBIs. Upper Dauphin has battled their way back in the competition with their defensive strategy. The Trojans have three key pitchers this year (Connor Deitrich, Hoyt Stiely, and Dylan Lower) who all can keep the team

TVAA Softball Playoff Preview

The TVAA Softball Playoffs will be played by Upper Dauphin, Millersburg, Greenwood, and Susquenita on Tuesday May 16th. The matchups will be Susquenita at Upper Dauphin and Millersburg at Greenwood. Leading the Eastern Division is the Trojans of Upper Dauphin. The Trojans are undefeated in the league and 12-4 overall. Their hitting gets them ahead in the game with Lexi Weaver being a top hitter in the league having 19 hits and RBIs and also 8 homeruns. Lea Lenker helps out with getting the score up as she is leading the league with runs with 18. On the defensive end, Lexi Weaver is a strong pitcher on the mound with a strong team on the field. The 2017 TVAA Track and Field Meet will take place today at Susquenita High School. The field events will begin at 3:30 PM with track events starting at 4:00 PM. TVAA Softball and Baseball Playoff Picture

The TVAA softball playoff picture has cleared up this past week. The Eastern Division will be represented by Upper Dauphin (10-0) and Millersburg (5-5) while the Western Division will be Greenwood (9-2) and Susquenita (8-3). UDA has clinched the #1 spot in the East, but the West is still up in the air with Greenwood and Susquenita each having one game remaining in league play. Should the Lady Wildcats win their final league game against East Juniata they would be the top seed in the West. The semi-final games would see Susquenita traveling to UDA and Millersburg traveling to Greenwood. The TVAA baseball playoff picture is not quite as clear we could see anywhere from 4-6 teams qualify
