TIGERS CLAIM GOLF CROWN

The East Juniata Tigers finished perfect 16-0 in TVAA golf play this season to claim the TVAA Golf title. The Tigers were led by Sophomore, Will Orwing who had the lowest individual average in league play scoring 80.88 in TVAA contests. Freshman,Tanner Barth (86.88) and Senior, Colby Breeding (90.5) were also in the Top 5 in individual scoring for the Tigers. Congratulations to the East Juniata Tiger Golf team on a successful season.

TVAA Soccer Championships are Set

On Thursday, October 18th the Tri Valley Athletic Association will host the 2018 Girls and Boys Soccer Championships at Upper Dauphin Area High School. The girls game will kick off at 5:30 PM as the Northern Division Champion East Juniata will take on the Susquenita the Southern Division Champion. The boys game will feature the Eastern Division Champion Halifax and the Western Division Champion Greenwood. In the early game the East Juniata Lady Tigers have dominated league play with a perfect 12-0 record. The Lady Tigers have outscored their TVAA opponents an astounding 117-3. Greenwood Earns 11th Straight Title

The Greenwood Lady Wildcats have captured yet another TVAA Field Hockey title with their 4-1 victory over Newport on Tuesday, October 16th. The Lady Wildcats are 8-0 in the TVAA and hold a two game lead over second place Newport. The Buffaloes and Wildcats each have one game remaining as they will play again on Wednesday, October 17th but the championship has already been secured. This is Greenwood’s 11th TVAA Field Hockey title in a row and 20th overall. Coach Ken Houser’s team outscored its TVAA counterparts 46-5 in league play as Junior Kelsey Shaffer was solid all year in the net for the Lady Wildcats. Halifax Claims TVAA Volleyball Crown

The Lady Wildcats of Halifax claimed another TVAA title on Thursday, October 11th, when they defeated Millersburg in 4 sets (22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-22). This is Halifax's 4th straight title and 6th overall, since the TVAA Volleyball league was formed in the 2012-13 season. Coach Jackie Miller’s team finished TVAA play with a 5-1 mark, while Millersburg had its best finish in years with a 4-2 league record. The Lady Wildcats are led by Senior Maniya Erdman (72 kills, 29 aces, 21 blocks), Senior Emma Maulfair (23 kills, 10 aces, 14 blocks), and Senior Natalie Miller (114 assists, 15 kills, 19 aces, 55 digs).
