TVAA Softball and Baseball Playoff Picture

The TVAA softball playoff picture has cleared up this past week. The Eastern Division will be represented by Upper Dauphin (10-0) and Millersburg (5-5) while the Western Division will be Greenwood (9-2) and Susquenita (8-3). UDA has clinched the #1 spot in the East, but the West is still up in the air with Greenwood and Susquenita each having one game remaining in league play. Should the Lady Wildcats win their final league game against East Juniata they would be the top seed in the West. The semi-final games would see Susquenita traveling to UDA and Millersburg traveling to Greenwood.

The TVAA baseball playoff picture is not quite as clear we could see anywhere from 4-6 teams qualify for the playoffs. The Eastern Division has been tightly contested all year as Halifax (6-4), Millersburg (5-5), and Upper Dauphin (5-5) all are in the hunt. The Wildcats control their own destiny as they can win the division with a victory over Millersburg on Tuesday, May 9th. Should the Indians beat the Wildcats they guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs. Upper Dauphin will need to defeat Line Mountain in its final game and need Millersburg to beat Halifax to force a three-way tie for the division. If this would occur all three teams would qualify for the TVAA playoff. The Western Division is also a three team race between Susquenita (9-2), Newport (8-3), and Juniata (7-3). The outcome of the Newport/Juniata game on May 9th will play the biggest factor in determining the Western Champion. There is the potential for another three-way divisional tie if Juniata can win out and Newport defeats Susquenita in the finale. It should be an exciting week in the TVAA as teams fight for those playoff spots.
